Keyboard Smash instructions:

What is Keyboard Smash?

• Keyboard Smash is a 2 player game involving a single laptop.
• N.B. Keyboard Smash's interface aligns best on a 14 inch screen.

How to play:

1. Each player is responsible for a set of 4 keys on the keyboard. Player 1 uses WASD and Player 2 uses IJKL. They may keep their fingers rested on these keys.
2. In the lower centre of the screen there is a picture of 4 blank keys: this represents the layout of the 4 keys used by the players.
3. A red square will appear randomly on 1 of the 4 blank keys. The player should press the key in their key set that corresponds to the one marked by the red square. For example, if the red square appears on the top square, the players must press their top key (W for player 1 and I for player 2).
4. The player that presses their key first wins a point.
5. The red square will then move to the next random key. This may be the same key as before.
6. Again the players must race to press the corresponding key on their keyset. The quickest player gets the point and this cycle repeats.

How to win:

• Each player starts with an empty battery, which is displayed near their key set on the screen.
• When a player wins a point, their battery starts to fill up. A battery is full when 5 points have been awarded to that player.
• The first to fill up their battery wins!
